The Hermogenes Pedro Villareal Foundation, Inc. continues the legacy of Dr. Hermogenes P. Villareal through its commitment to educational assistance and the development of future dental professionals. The foundation was formally established on July 20, 1999, by Dr. Villareal's children to honor their father's lifelong dedication to service and philanthropy. Its mission reflects the family's belief that professional success should be accompanied by generosity, compassion, and responsibility toward others. Unlike the Doña Gregoria Pedro Villareal Foundation, Inc., which supports deserving students across various academic disciplines, the Hermogenes Pedro Villareal Foundation focuses on students pursuing a degree in dentistry. Through scholarship assistance, the foundation aims to help academically qualified and motivated students who have the determination to complete their studies but face financial difficulties. The article also highlights the foundation's partnerships with dental organizations, including the International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy, University of the East Alumni Association, and Pasay City Dental Chapter. These collaborations help extend educational opportunities to deserving dentistry students. One of the foundation's guiding principles is “paying the blessing forward.” Scholars who complete their degrees are encouraged to support at least two new scholars of their own choosing. Through this approach, the benefits of educational assistance can continue beyond the original recipient and reach future generations. To sustain its scholarship programs, the foundations also organize an Annual Invitational Golf Tournament, bringing together supporters, partners, and friends to help fund educational initiatives. The story demonstrates how the Villareal family's commitment to dentistry extends beyond patient care. By investing in education, the foundation seeks to nurture future professionals who can serve their communities with competence, integrity, and compassion.
